Syllabus

Course Description:

The client will study and become familiar with the four components of the TOEFL test: reading, listening, speaking, and writing. The instructor will present the material in a professional workshop format, three evenings per week, two hours per meeting. At the conclusion of the course, the client will be adequately prepared to successfully pass the TOEFL examination.

Instructional Methods:

  • Lecture: The instructor will introduce topics and lead class discussions.
  • Discussion: ALL clients are expected to participate in discussions and class activities in order to practice using the English language.
  • Practice tests: Clients will test their language skills by completing tests that will approximate the format of the TOEFL test.
  • Audiovisual: Most class sessions will incorporate audiovisual material in order to better familiarize clients with English language listening comprehension.

Course Outline:

There will be 15 class sessions.

Class meets Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursday evenings, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Classes will begin and end promptly as scheduled. Please make every effort to be on time.

The Instructor will be available one hour before each class session to meet with clients.
